1. National Pizza Month

Every month of October in the United States is celebrated as National Pizza Month! National Day has been around since 1984, created by Gerry Durnell, a publisher of a magazine called “Pizza Today”.

2. Restaurant Pizza

Antica Pizzeria is the first pizza restaurant in the world, opened in Naples, Italy in 1738. The first American pizzeria opened in New York City in 1905. As for now, you do not have to go travel the world just to eat pizza, as there have been many other pizza restaurants to be some of the places to eat in Moscow Idaho.

3. Organization Neapolitan Pizza

Do you know that around the world there are organizations to check the authenticity of Neapolitan Pizza? This organization has been established since 1984. Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana which means True Neapolitan Pizza Association has set specific rules that must be followed if the pizzeria (pizza specialty restaurants) would like to refer to their products as authentic Neapolitan pizza.

Historically, until now no one knows where the origin of the word Pizza. There are several theories regarding this, for the people of the ancient Greek word pizza comes from the word pikte which means fermented cakes and pita which means bread wheat. According to residents of Italy, called the pizza comes from pizzacare which means picking and pulled quickly out of the oven. While the German people once called the pizza from the word pizzo which means mouthful.

5. Pizza Largest

Pizza biggest in history was made on 8 December 1990 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. The size of this pizza is 123 feet or 4 meters long. The pizza was made with 1,100 pounds of flour, 1,800 pounds of cheese and 2,000 pounds of tomato sauce.
